Congratulations to the recipient of the 4th Annual LAMMICO Patient Safety Award and Grant: Jennings American Legion Hospital in Jennings, Louisiana. The 2018-2019 Patient Safety Award and Grant focused on nurse burnout. Participants were asked to complete LAMMICO’s risk management and patient safety education on nurse well-being and burnout, and then implement strategies to reduce burnout and promote provider well-being.
The LAMMICO Patient Safety Award and Grant recognizes major achievements by hospitals and facilities to improve patient safety and healthcare quality, consistent with LAMMICO's ongoing efforts to ensure patient safety and mitigate liability through education, assessment and tailored clinical risk management resources.
This annual award program was established in 2015 to applaud the most outstanding contributions of excellence in patient safety throughout Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi. By demonstrating the best methods employed to reduce nurse burnout and promote well-being as a result of LAMMICO's risk management and patient safety education, Jennings American Legion Hospital was awarded a:
- $10,000 grant to be used for nursing professional development
- One-year Risk Manager membership to the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM)
- One-year complimentary membership to Medical Interactive Community for all employees to access our risk management CME/CNE/MOC courses online
Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, Arkansas; and The Spine Hospital of Louisiana at The NeuroMedical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Due to exceptional reported results, Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, Arkansas, and The Spine Hospital of Louisiana at The NeuroMedical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, were named Patient Safety Award and Grant Honorees. A grant of $2,000 to be used for nursing professional development was presented to both hospitals in recognition of their achievements.
