Comparative Billing Reports (CBRs) for Dermatology

On June 28, 2019, CMS made available Comparative Billing Reports (CBRs) to dermatologists enrolled in the Medicare program. The focus of this report is on the use of the -25 modifier in dermatology practices. These CBRs will provide statistical analyses that compare an individual provider’s billing practices with the billing practices of that provider’s peer groups and national averages.
CMS has scheduled a free webinar, July 10 at 2 p.m. CDT to review these reports and assist in answering provider questions.
Revenue Cycle Management consists of effective billing, payment and collection policies and procedures. If a patient is unhappy in any way with the care they received, billing errors or aggressive collection activities could undermine the physician-patient relationship and become the impetus for the patient to file a malpractice claim. Effective revenue cycle management can help mitigate your malpractice and compliance risks.
This information is provided to you through Practice Solutions, a program created to help LAMMICO insureds mitigate their malpractice risk as well as navigate the regulatory and financial burdens on physicians and their practices.
